Marine Survey at Sikka l-Bajda
Mariners are notified that the Research and Diving activities will be conducted off l-Ahrax tal-Mellieha, mostly in bunkering area 1. These positions are shown on the attached chart. Works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 26 July 2010 at 0800 hours and are expected to continue until the end of September 2010, weather permitting. Works may also be carried out during weekends and public holidays. The motor vessel ISIS will be conducting a survey by a Remotely Operated Vehicle (R.O.V.). In this respect mariners are to give a wide berth of 500 metres. The research vessel will be towing instruments, while at the same time maintaining its position and recording data. Therefore, the vessel may not be in a position to alter its course suddenly. Mariners are advised to navigate with caution and slow speed when in the vicinity of the aboveindicated areas. Mariners are also notified to abide with any instructions from Valletta Port Control, (VTS) on VHF Channel 12. Chart Affected: BA Chart 2538, 194
