SimradŽ HALOTM Radar Wins 2015 Design Award METS (DAME)
26 November 2015
We are pleased to announce that Simrad® HALOTM Pulse Compression Radar won the 2015 Design Award METS (DAME) in the Marine Electronics category at the Marine Equipment Trade Show, held last week in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
DAME nominees are evaluated on overall design, build quality, functionality, and use of materials. Other factors taken into account are originality, ergonomics and price/quality ratio.
The 2015 DAME is the third honor HALO has received in the past two months. HALO won the National Marine Manufacturers Association NMMA Innovation Award in the OEM Electronics category at the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference (IBEX) in September, and received the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Best Technology Award at the NMEA Conference in October.
Simrad HALOTM Pulse Compression Radar range is the world's first high-performance solid-state, open-array radar system with pulse compression technology, suitable for recreational and light commercial marine markets. Combining the advantages of Broadband RadarTM and traditional pulse radar systems, HALO provides navigational visibility and awareness, as close as 6m, within the pulse radar's short-range "blind spot," where once only Broadband Radar could operate - all while offering exceptional long-range performance up to 72 nautical miles.
