Imperial Gozo Yacht Club - G2 Sagra Famiglia Results

The second race of the G2 Sagra Familglia Regatta was held Sunday 27th September 2009. The race commenced on time with a moderate ENE wind. The course was outside Mgarr Harbour, around Comino and back. The second race was again won by Chardonay which resulted in Chardonay being the overall winner of the 3rd G2 Sagra Familgia Regatta. Congratulations to Daniel Talma his crew.

1st place was won by Chardonay on a Match 35 helmed by Daniel Talma.
2nd place was taken by Prime Time on a First 38s helmed by John Cefai.
3rd place was taken by First Class on a First 35s5 helmed by Frank Farrugia.
4th place was taken by Illusion I on a Oceanis 361 helmed by Anthony Xuereb.
5th place was taken by Third Time Lucky on a Oceanis 393 helmed by Savio Portelli.

The G2-Sagra Famiglia Regatta was setup by Angelo Bajada in memory of his father Vitor Bajada (1900-1979), who commissioned and was co-owner of the 'daghjsa tal-latini' by that name. It was built in 1933 by the Caruana brothers in Kalkara and is currently being restored in Mgarr. The Sagra Famiglia was originally numbered G2 which was later changed to G32.

The photos on the side were taken from First Class and the skipper seen is therefore Frank Farrugia, who incidentally won the new SPOT satellite/GPS alerting system.
