Malta provides an ideal base for training purposes. Just a three hour flight from the UK and measuring 19 x 25 kilometres, the climate is perfect for the majority of the year. The costs of accommodation, transport and food meanwhile, are very favourable compared to other European countries.

Transport Malta (TM), the Authority for Transport in Malta, was set up in 2010 as a distinct and autonomous corporate body to assume the functions previously exercised by the Malta Maritime Authority, the Malta Transport Authority and the Civil Aviation Department.

Vested with detailed regulatory powers, TM is entrusted to supervise and co-ordinate the organisation of all functions related to roads, transport by air, rail, road, or sea, within ports and inland waters, and relating to merchant shipping.
